Bad Hand Coffee - about

We’re Bad Hand Coffee. An independent coffee roaster based in a converted warehouse just off the mean streets of central Bournemouth.

When it comes to our coffee (and our business practices), we’re all about the ethics, environment and trying to be all-round decent human beings.

We do this in a few ways:

  • We source coffee from green importers who trade directly with farms and pay them a fair price

  • All our retail packaging is completely home compostable (true story)
  • Local orders are delivered by Cargo bike or electric van, charged using the solar panels on our warehouse roof.

  • Online orders are sent plastic-free through the post using cardboard envelopes or reused boxes and packing that we recieve from orders we've placed

  • The milk we use is plastic-free and locally produced by the talented team (and cows!) at Meggy Moo’s Dairy in Dorset

  • For any event we can’t use ceramic cups to serve, we use compostable cups from Decent Packaging

  • All our cafe partners and trade customers get their beans in buckets, which we collect, sanitise and reuse again and again (saving hundreds of bags from going to waste every month)
  • Our whole roastery and warehouse (which we share with some other cool businesses) is powered completely by renewable energy including solar pannels on our roof

  • We are a climate-positive business, thanks to the help from Ecologi and plant a tree for every customer's tenth order with us

We firmly believe that life is too short to drink shit coffee. That’s why we only hand roast the good stuff.
